That beer keg story has a real end of Kelly’s Heroes feel to it. Instead of the potshots, I expected the story to end with both sides just splitting up the beer. (Some of us have been really, really influenced by that movie!)

Beaten to the Company of Wolves trainspotting derisiveness, but eh. That movie was just too damned weird to be popular, anyway.

Personally I want someone to film a King of Elfland’s Daughter rip-off. Goth it up a bit, lower the characters’ ages, throw in a bit of Freud and you’ve got a hit. I mean, girls like fairies don’t they? Fairies can be scary. Someone call Guillermo del Toro and tell him to get on it.
