Gorgeous shots! I had no idea you could take a tour through the old City Hall station, definitely putting that one on my to do list. There is always a new reason to go to the city, sadly I never thought to visit the old. Sounds like you had a very fun day!

I loved this. Since I'm fascinated by subway secrets and underground railways, it's right up my street. There was, by the way, a similar Cold War / Abandoned station on the Prague subway A (green) line where the train looped around after Skalka. I was a bit upset to discover that it's been reactivated as Depo-Hospital.

But the two I'm really curious about are the constructed-but-never-used Kanazawa subway (the bus companies lobbled it to death) which was supposed to run from Kanazawa station to Korinbo, and the possibly-apocryphal Manchester subway that was abandoned when the exploration diggers dug up.....something (n.b. as much as I would love this to have been an alien spacecraft, I suspect they just tunnelled into the ship canal by mistake. oops.)

anyways, lovely article. makes me miss New York.

Thanks, Will. Sadly, the print on the Image DVD of Silence that I have also has its fair share of pops and scratches. Might the extra effort to unearth a better print have been made had it been a different Sergio at the helm?

Ha, this one sounds positively cheesy and slightly OTT. Yet, I'm really interested in giving it a chance. Lol, this quote convinced me "I mean, even with all the negatives I highlighted, it’s hard for someone like me to walk away from a movie featuring world-conquering space yetis in fabulous outfits and not have at least a mildly amused smile on my face." I want to be amused. Great job. And an amazing risk to pick a possibly bad movie to review for a blogathon. It's admirable and you more than lived up to the expectations.

No problem, Jesse. At least you caught it. Most don't. Besides, having my writing mistaken for Keith's isn't exactly an insult. As far as my health goes, rest assured that, as long as I can muster the strength to pay close scrutiny to movies featuring a naked Vonetta McGee, I am in sight of full recovery.
